EFFECT OF HYPNOTHERAPY PART THERAPY TECHNIQUES AND SELF REGULATED LEARNING ON ACADEMIC PROCRASTINATION

Abstract

Academic procrastination or the act of delaying learning assignments is one of the problems that occur in students during the educational process. This generally increases in end-of- term studies, namely in the process of completing the final project. Data shows that 90% of final-year students become procrastinators. These activities can have negative consequences for academics if not handled properly. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of part therapy hypnotherapy techniques and self-regulated learning on academic procrastination of Diploma 3 Midwifery students. The study used an experimental method with a two-group pre-post test design. The sample used was students of the Diploma 3 Midwifery study program at the final level of 30 students who were divided into two groups with a total of 15 people each. The analysis technique uses frequency distribution, normality test, and bivariate test using the t-test and Chi-Square test, the academic procrastination instrument uses a Likert scale consisting of positive and negative ports. The results of this study indicate that there are significant differences with different results, part therapy hypnotherapy has a greater contribution in handling academic procrastination as evidenced by the OR value (4.51), which means that part-therapy hypnotherapy techniques have a 4.51 times possibility of reducing academic procrastination compared to self-regulated learning which has an OR (1.65). Part therapy technique hypnotherapy contributes to the handling of academic procrastination in final year students of the third midwifery diploma program, so it is suggested that it can be an alternative solution that can be carried out by institutions in making policies related to handling academic procrastination.
